Thought, saturated in opinions, loses direction and wanders down a dead end road. Opinionated attitudes automatically dismiss, or withdraw from, advancing good ideas. However, thought committed to a spiritual truth will not only make progressive decisions, but also act on them. Christian Science-a subject inordinately attached to opinions debating whether or not a person can go to a doctor-is given an expanded view in this article. Spiritual truths are presented, which ultimately predominate over opinions. Deep-seated opinions are misleading, distracting, and tiresome. Spiritual truths allow people to make practical, informed, and better conclusions concerning their world, their well-being, and faith.
Christian Science is a metaphysical science. It does not dictate a certain human lifestyle. It does not prescribe particular opinions or behaviors. And, no matter how habituated humans are to believe otherwise, Christian Science does not tell a person whether or not to go to a doctor. Christian Science involves spiritual growth: an ever-increasing understanding of God; advancement in a Christ-like attitude; progress in the practice of self-control, healing, philanthropy, and honesty. Spiritual growth leads people, including doctors, to make better decisions regarding health care.
A major point in Christian Science is to work out our deliverance from problems with God, Spirit. Working out our salvation with Truth is an on-going process, and Christian Science does not assume we human beings can automatically be so spiritual that we do not need temporal help. It also does not maintain a power other than God, to create a fear of temporal assistance. To understand our way out of the flesh is a requirement. It requires patience, persistence, and respect. Any thinking that Christian Science must, or can, insist on healing with our without doctors, is warped by human opinions.
Sadly, human opinions constantly demand attention, deterring us from working out our salvation with God, Truth. Whether the opinions are vulnerable or arrogant, they are usually immoderate, uninformed, and ridiculous. The fact is, less intrusive and more permanent healing is possible, undoubtedly supported by Christian Science, but it takes increased spirituality, understanding, honesty, unity, and effort.
There is also the obstacle of personal experience to swerve people off the point of spirituality. Our human experiences, sometimes good or sometimes bad, are not reliable reference points for making conclusions. Human beings have too little data in their brain to fully understand anything outside of their private memory chip. An opinion (or a chemical drug), that is meaningful for one person may be detrimental to another person. However, no matter what our career or profession, Christian Science acknowledges God-acknowledges Christ-spirit embracing and inspiring human consciousness in a way that is best for each individual-as willing and able to produce genuine improvement.
I can give an almost comic example of how human experience misses the point.
A couple of months ago, my husband and I moved into a rental house. It basically needed major cleaning, so we started scrubbing, scouring, and mowing down overgrown weeds. I do not remember why, but my husband mentioned that there were 2 dishes on the roof. I rolled my eyes; nothing was surprising me anymore at this rental house. But, reading my mind, my husband said, "Cheryl, Satellite dishes, for TV." We laughed. I was thinking dinner plates. A satellite dish did not even occur to me because we haven't had TV reception for over 20 years. TV is a small part of my experience. My definition of a "dish" is a dinner plate.
If the definition of Christian Science comes across as a group of people who do not go to doctors, it is not the correct definition, not the point. It is an opinion, undocumented speculation. Spotlighting opinions relating to whether or not someone can or should go to a doctor distorts the milieu and misses the purpose of Christian Science.
The two words, Christian Science, are only a human term for the spiritual truth of a law of good, interpreting harmony, and promoting goodness in consciousness, thereby producing goodness in humanity, including doctors!
The force of Christian Science can no longer be hijacked by misinterpretation. It cannot be in the clutches of people who divert and bewilder with hard-core or ignorant opinions. Christian Science does not belong to a church and cannot be limited to pointless debate.
Divine Science, another term for Christian Science, is universal, timeless, metaphysical, impartial. It is a filter-filtering out opinions-through which human beings can look to find the best answer for the question at hand. Divine Science epitomizes spiritual truths. Answers based on spiritual truth are valuable, available to all people. Every individual is unbrokenly connected to God, to spiritual understanding, and progressive goodness.

Wat Traimit – The Enlightened Home Of The Golden Buddha
Famous for its Buddhist heritage, Bangkok houses a number of temples that are highly favoured for its architecture or cultural value. Wat Traimit however is a temple that was rather insignificant.
An insignificant Buddha statue housed in a decaying temple needed a new home and was thus moved to Wat Traimit in 1955. The statue was so big that this temple didn't have enough room for it and for 2 decades it was located under a plain tin roof. It was when a new building was being built at the temple premises that the truth of the statue was discovered.
This Buddha statue was originally in Ayuththaya-the capital of Thailand. Before the invasion of the Burmese, this golden statue was covered in plaster and stucco so that its value would be hidden and thus the statue was spared. This disguise was so effective that two centuries down the line, it was still shunted around without much thought. However on its move to its present home, Wat Traimit, it was accidentally mishandled and dropped into the mud.
A Buddhist monk, came to inspect it whilst it still lay in the mud the next day and discovered the crack in the plaster and the yellowy hue underneath.
On the removal of the plaster it was discovered that the statue was a beautiful Sukhothai style seated Buddha statue cast in solid gold. Not only was it just a golden statue but at over 3M in height and 5 tonnes in weight it was the largest golden Buddha statue in the world.
With its resplendent and beautiful sculpturing, this statue should be on the list of visiting spots for the traveller to Bangkok. With a fast mind, you may realize that there is no buddhism in buddhism. Buddhism means nothing.
We are just a product of culture, and we are not self , but social. We are like a car produced by mechanism and lived following mechanism and configuration.
You must not concentrate too mcuh on these matter of right/wrong, all is just for convenience in determining a goal. You should follow your instinct.
