Here are some more information for Sakyamuni Buddha:

Although the truth cannot be seen, heard or touched, yet it is the origin of all things and it is beyond time, space and religion. The great ancients who lived in accordance to the truth were men of subtle wisdom and penetrating intelligence. They were so profound that others did not understand them and such people are the founders of the Five Great Religions like Lao Tze, Confucius, Sakyamuni Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammad.
Everything under Heaven has a beginning which can be said as the origin of things. If we know the origin, we can then say there is a mother of all under Heaven and everything is its offspring. By observing with a quiet and still mind, one can perceive the origin of things and in Tao, we say, "Tao is great, Heaven is great, Earth is great, Humanity is great and within the universe are all things and humans are one with the universe and God. There is going and there is coming. Everything returns to nothingness. Man is in harmony with Earth, Earth harmonises with Heaven, Heaven harmonises with Tao and Tao harmonises with what is natural."
The truth is not something rare and strange. It is not like he can turn into a beauty today and turn into a devil-like creature tomorrow. Then all of a sudden he turns into a ninety-nine year old man. All these are not the truth because the truth is we grow and mature naturally through learning and studying. Don't expect to become a great person overnight because we need wisdom and it takes time to absorb and get experience through learning. Collect our wisdom slowly then our virtuous nature will be the same as the Light Beings.
How can we save this despairing world? asked my Heavenly Master JiGong. Start with oneself. Then change the most beloved people, our own family members. Correct oneself well; enlighten and transform others. The statement said, "In order to govern the state well, it is necessary to regulate the family first. It is not possible for a man to discipline others when he is not able to discipline himself and his own family."
It is advised, "As a member of the family, we must treat the other family members with a sincere heart. Sincerity is Tao. We must treat everybody this way. Sincerity between husband and wife; there must be mutual understanding for each other. Between father and son (parents and children), when it calls for strictness, the father should be strict. When it calls for loving-kindness, the father must advise the son with kindly words. Then only, people would not find themselves living in a battlefield and dwelling in hell. Hence, when it's time to be strict, the father must guide the son with truth. He should give the son a true, correct and sensible way to follow. And in showing his loving-kindness, he must use the Principle of Oneness to untie the knot in the son's heart, so that both hearts can link together."
Live a peaceful life. When there is friction at home, it depends on what type of heart you would use to transform the friction into peace. Likewise if there is friction outside the home, the same applies. Everyone wants to live in peace and when everyone gathers in harmony, wisdom will be generated and the world will be at peace.

China’s most magnificent temple – the Lama Temple
At the north-eastern side of Beijing is China’s largest and most perfectly preserved imperial temple – The Lama Temple or Yonghe Temple. This temple was established in 1694 during the Qing Dynasty. Prince Yong used the temple as his residence and after his death his coffin was placed in one of the halls. His successor, the Qianlong Emperor thereafter granted imperial status to the temple – which is seen by the replacing of its turquoise blue tiles with the Emperor Status yellow ones. The temple then gradually became a residence centre for Tibetan and Mongolian Buddhist monks.
The entire architecture is based along a north to south axis with 5 main halls and courtyards. Each of these halls are in succeeding height order with the last being the highest. The temple boasts of Mongolian, Manchurian, Tibetan and Han influences.
The Hall of the Heavenly Kings marks the entrance to the other halls and contains the statues of the 4 Divine Kings. The Hall of Harmony and Peace consists of the images of the 3 Buddhas of the 3 ages – Kasyapa Matanga ( Buddha of the past), Sakyamuni (Buddha of the present), and Maitreya (Buddha of the future).
Next is the Hall of Everlasting Blessings, which the Prince Yong used as his residence. This hall now carries a green tara and white tara depiction, the former of which is unusual given its make consisting of 4000 silk pieces.
The lamas read their sutras and hold ceremonies in the Hall Of The Dharma Wheel, which also consists of a structure of the founder of the Tibetan Buddhist Yellow Hat Sect.
The last hall, the pavilion of Infinite Happiness is the highest and the main hall. An 18 meter high statue of Maitreya Buddha carved from a single Sandalwood tree takes pride of place and is one of the artworks to be in the Guinness Book in 1993.
These are just some of the aspects of this amazing Lamaserie and the traveller would indeed be wise to explore the rest of this monastery. Being close to the subway, this temple is easily accessible. If the traveller wishes to visit this monastery at leisure, and is looking for Beijing serviced accommodation, then a service apartment in Beijing such as the Somerset Grand Fortune Garden would be ideal, with its central location.

Does it anyone find it strange that Jesus was born about the time Buddhism was supposed to die?
Sakyamuni Buddha predicted that the dharma would only survive 500 years after his death. Jesus was born about 500 years after his death. Does anyone else think that is a strange coincidence?
If you read carefully, they use different words but the message trying to be conveyed seems to the same. Could these two events be somehow related?
Buddhism lives on, and is still thriving. Christianity continues to splinter into other groups and change its doctrines (by changing or "modernizing" its interpretations of the bible). Christianity isn't the same religion it was 300 years ago, and it's very different from how it will be 300 years from now. It's not really a religion at all; it's many, always searching for itself, always changing its mind in spite of itself.
Exclusive: An interview with the Dalai Lama
As the Dalai Lama turns 75 on July 6, he speaks about the importance of the Indian tradition of Nalanda, the differences between Buddhist science, philosophy and religion and why he believes that a 'sort' of cultural genocide is happening in Tibet.
