Kava Kava Did it work 4 U?
I mix 1 cup milk 1 teaspoon oil 3 tablespoons kava root let set 45 min then added 1cup coffee 1 teaspoon of kava extract powder and sake 4 10 min in 20oz bottle straind and it made about 4 - 1/2 cup servings that i drank within 45 min. Ive drank b4 way back when, 3 servings and felt full effects. I work nights now and thought it would be a good way towind down the night and go to bed in morning but have had little effects ive read the liver warnings and dont want to overdo it but I also dont want to give up after a few trys I rember it was a good relaxent and at the time I had back trouble and it helped vary much how come no results when I make it at home?
Yeah I've used Kava before. Not Nearly as affective as a few beers but still a nice calm feeling. I think my anxiety is too much for just Kava though so I have taken it with Valerian, Theanine and sometimes a little alcohol. I would say if it works for you stick with it. As long as you don't have liver problems you should be fine. I've read from many sources that the liver problems associated with it are mainly the result of Kava in other forms than just the ROOT. It should just be in the form of the root because the leaves and other parts of the plant are bad for your liver while the root, when used sensibly isn't. The reasons for the ban and all this crap about it being bad for your liver are purely political and have nothing to do with the government trying to keep your safety in mind. If they really cared about your health than don't you think alcohol and tobacco would be illegal? Not that I am saying they should be.
Just like the reason marijuana is illegal and ephedra is banned, Kava has been demonized because it posed a threat to the drug companies and they don't want any competition. I'm sure there will be other answers saying, "don't use that stuff, it is bad for your liver" that will be from people who think only from what others say and not with their own brain.
