Sad to think such a noble animal survived an attack that long ago just to die from the same treatment present day. Amazing nevertheless =)

Thanks for posting this! It is a sad story. Whales are by FAR my favorite animals b/c they are truly gentle giants. I agree - very noble animals! I talked about whales all the time when I was little. My Mum finally broke down and bought me a membership to GreenPeace when I was in the 2nd grade. LOL.
I just watched a special about this particular species this past weekend. They are indeed the oldest living whales. (Most others don't live that long). They make yearly journeys between Britian and Canada...they travel 10,000 miles in 10 days! Incredible! 
I hope that people will stop being butt heads about this. There are a precious few of these majestic creatures left and we need to protect them.
