How do you pronouce Taisyun and where does this name originate?
Hi, my Auntie bought me a Kokeshi figurine (Japanese Ornament) and it says her name is Taisyun - (Dreaming of Spring) on the box. How do I pronouce this and is it a Japanese name or Chinese?
Well I thought it might be Chinese because my Aunty brought it back from China on a trip and not Japan. And the name was written in Kanji (China letter borrowed by Japan). She is read the name to me as Taisyun (I couldn't read it myself) but I guess she meant Taishun and I missunderstood. Thanks for the sensible answers anyway xoxox
It's pronounced Tay-shun. Or, if you want to REALLY pronounce it correctly, Tay-shi-un, with emphasis on the "un" part. It is a Japanese name, although it isn't one of the more traditional names.
Festival of Japan takes place Saturday
Now in its fifth year, the Festival of Japan will take place from noon-4:30 p.m. Saturday at Laramie High School. The festival brings together the entertainment, food and culture of Japan and features hands-on activities and performances.
