Whimsical Accessories: Children’s Art
Children’s artwork and paintings often times can make even the most jaded of adults feel a sense of whimsy. Throughout my career I have crossed paths with many artists who have demonstrated this fact again and again.
One of my fellow artists tells the story of how his sense of whimsy was restored. He was working on revamping a waiting room area in a children’s hospital. In his attempt to find wall hangings he ran across two paintings based upon a book from his childhood. The emotions and memories triggered by these paintings seemed to restore his ability to view his project through the eyes of a child making it one of his most successful projects to date.
A friend who worked at a rehab center as an administrator once confided that the simple addition of children’s paintings to the physical therapy lounge seemed to lift the spirits of their patients – Adults and children alike.
Children’s paintings can also spark a sense of joie de vive as well, as told by a decorator friend of mine. She goes on to tell the story of a couple who wanted some wall hangings for their home which could only be described as minimalist in theme/style. The couple was reviewing her portfolio when they ran across some Lollipop Art prints and were thoroughly enchanted. Adding the prints to a hallway seemed to warm up the house and couple alike.
Whimsical accessories can also spark change in one’s life as told by another decorator friend. She tells how a family was inspired to incorporate family days into their normal routine as a result of having some fun filled children’s paintings placed in their daughters room. The paintings depicted such joyful family togetherness that they have now incorporated family days into their own lives.
Children’s paintings can also act as a catalyst for change. Another decorator friend told me of a family who had lost their sense of togetherness. Every member had such a busy schedule that they rarely did anything together--not even meals. She was hired to redecorate the daughter’s room. She added several children’s paintings illustrating families enjoying outdoor activities together, which inspired the family to incorporate family events into their own lives.
A sense of fun and whimsy can be inspired by simply adding the most appropriate children’s painting to your life. As we can see, both young and old can be inspired by whimsical children’s paintings.

I bought a "Painting" made out of glass or cut stones and need to find out about it.?
I bought two pictures today that hang on the wall like paintings but appear to be made out of cut stones, (like jade and rose quartz,) or out of glass.
They're made in Taiwan according to the lable on the back and they claim to take pride in their work. (It looks like it too.)
It says, "This product is created by us. We produce varieties of designs and win good reputation in both local and overseas markets. Please recognize this TRADE-MARK."
Then it says "Pattern 216, (the second one is 216-3.) Made in Taiwan.
It also has some kind of indescribable trademark plus chinese writing on it.
I will gladly email a picture of it to anyone who can maybe identify it for me.

Sounds more like a mosaic... I am not sure wher you might find more information. Perhaps find someone who can translate the Taiwanese...
