What happened to the old fashioned tea party? Did it get lost in this modern age?

How to bring it back with all of the style and elegance that it deserves.

It all started when I was a little girl, maybe it started with you too. When I was a little girl I used to play dress up. Sometimes I would act like I was going to have a tea party. I would dress up in my mother's glamorous dresses, high heeled shoes, and I would put her bright ruby red lipstick on my lips. I really felt that I looked so pretty like my mother when she would get dressed up.

I then proceeded to place a cup and saucer on a table and I pretended to pour tea into a cup. It was actually my father that showed me how to hold a teacup with my right hand and extend my little pinky finger while holding the teacup. It looked very feminine and I believe that he was teaching me good etiquette. I would hold the tea cup while I sat on a little chair and act like I was at a tea party dressed in my finest.

As I grew older, the old fashioned tea party had faded into the past. Until, one day I met a lady at my church who invited me to her home for a tea party. "Oh, yes", I said to her, "I would love to come."

So the day came for the tea party and I was so excited, because I was able to dress up in my finest, except this time I was not dressed up in my mother's clothes; I got dressed up in my own. I arrived at the tea party and it was what I always imagined a tea party should look like. As I stepped through the door, I was greeted by the hostess; I looked around to see many women sitting at small round tables. On the tables there were old fashioned tea cups and saucers with beautiful elegant teapots on the side of each table. The silverware was elegant sitting upon crisp white tablecloths made of the finest fabric. Everything on each table looked so perfect, that I was very hesitant to even touch anything, because it was so beautiful and lovely looking.

Rose petal tea was served with real rose petals that were edible and tasted very sweet. The hostess went to each table and brought the pastries that consisted of scones, triangle shaped sandwiches, cheesecake, fruit, and other delicacies. All the women were sitting at different tables talking and fellowshipping with one another while they sipped their rose tea and ate their pastries. We played games in which the person who won received a beautiful gift. Everyone received a boxed cupcake in the shape of a rose.

I was so blessed that day. I will never forget it. I had really felt like I had been to an old fashioned tea party that day. Sipping rose tea reminded me of a time passed, when I was a little girl. Wouldn't it be wonderful, if every mother taught their daughters the art of having an old fashioned tea party, then it wouldn't be lost in the past, but we would pass it on for future generations to enjoy and treasure forever.

Have A Terrier As A Pet

The Scottish terriers, also known as Scotties, are short-legged British terriers. They are one among other go-to-ground and wire-coated terriers developed in the highlands of Scotland. The Scotties are said to have jaunty attitude so they are often used to represent advertisements of the country to where they originated.

However, Scotties' nature is not in coherence with their public image or trademark. In fact, Scotties are like the citizens of his native land who are independent, stoic, and fiercely loyal to their masters. They also adhere much to their own privacy.

Scotties, Westies, and Cairns are very similar regarding their appearance. The Westies and the Cairns are, in fact, closely-related. The Westie can be considered as the white variety of the Cairn who has a coat of any color but white. Westies are hybrids of white dogs crossed with Cairns of western Scotland. Scotties, however, have longer heads and bodies, have generally dark coats and are aloof than the other two.

The following are some of the basic facts breeders would really love to know about Scotties: Category: Terrier Living Environment: either outdoor or indoor (mostly preferred by breeders) Coat: wiry, short (about 2 inches) and thick Colors: iron gray or steel, black, wheaten, or sandy; the coat may also be brindled or grizzled Height: about 10 inches Weight: between 18 and 20 pounds Temperament: they need to be praised frequently and they adapt with the moods of the household

Breeders should note of the following health issues: Von Willibrand's disease (VWD), an inherited disorder Flea allergies and other skin problems Epilepsy Jawbone disorders Scottie cramp, a minor condition that causes walking difficulties Cerebellar abiotrophy, a slow-to-progress and rare neurological disease that causes loss of coordination

Care and Exercise: Their coats need special care to maintain its appearance and texture. It is suggested that they should be subjected to professional grooming once or twice each year for their coats to stay wiry and firm. The fur needs to be combed a couple of times in each week and even needs occasional trimming. Scotties' dead hairs should be plucked out through stripping. Using electric clippers will only make their coats dull and soft. Play with them. Hunting and squeaky balls and toys are their favorites. They should be on leash while walking in public places.

Origin/History: The origins of the breed are obscure. It was noted that forerunners of Scotties were sent to France's Royal Highness by King James I of England during the 16th century. Later on, three different terriers were revealed as Scotch Terriers, which included the Westies, the Cairns, and the Scotties. The Dandie Dinmont variety had also been noted as closely-related to the abovementioned terriers but its apparent physical differences categorized itself as a separate breed.

Terrier dogs that were bred in Britain were developed to hunt vermin that ate grains, and pestered eggs and poultry farms. Most breeds grew as scrappy and courageous dogs and were trained to follow badgers or foxes into their dens. Their wiry coats and soft undercoats protected them against rugged terrains and harsh climates.

If you want to have a Scottie in your life, you should not be impulsive about the matter for animosity and lack of proper training will only harm and traumatize the dog. If properly taken cared of, this breed can even appoint itself as a guardian of the family. It can also be fiercely loyal, that is it can protect you even if it means endangering its own life. To this effect, I guess you must agree that a Scottie is a dog that is second to none.

Homework Help! Questions about mass, volume, and density! Please Help!?

Mass ?- What has the greatest mass:a balloon, an iron wrecking ball, a basketball, or a baseball?

Volume ?- What has a greater volume: a teacup, a barrel, or a milk carton? (I know this one is easy, I just want to make sure of my answer.)

Density ?-Each cube has measures 10cm^3. Which cube has the greatest density: a balsa wood cube, a plastic cube, or an ice cube?

Mass= Density x Volume
Volume= Mass/Density
Density= Mass/Volume

Please and Thank you!

Mass = an iron wrecking ball

Think of mass as how heavy something is. Mass is NOT the same thing as weight though.

Volume, assuming everything normally sized, the barrel hold the greatest volume.

Think of volume as a cubic area. 1 cm is a unit of measure, 1 cm squared is a unit of area, 1 cm cubed (1 cm x 1 cm x 1cm ) is a unit of volume. Also note, 1 cm cubed is equivalent to one (ml)

Density : thats a bit tougher to judge without the mass of each. I would guess the plastic cube has the highest density.
