What can I do to REVERSE the damage of hand washing a DRY CLEANABLE ONLY dress?
Please help!! Its is a silk dry cleanable dress, and was very expensive! I carelessly didn't read the label. It's a blue dress and now has yellowish splodges all over it as though the colour has been warped. I'm just praying that this can be reversed through dyeing, dry cleaning, etc....but I'm just not sure? I'm desperate to fix this, It's my favourite dress and all feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Silk is nearly always washable, believe it or not. However, the dye is not always colorfast. That's what sounds like your problem is. If that's the case, it needs to be gently washed in cold water with a mild castile soap (made with vegetable oil), and hung dry.
