What I would like to do in this article is to go over some of the various items, symbols, charms, amulets, talisman and objects that one can use to obtain Sheng Ch'i and good luck. The art of Feng Shui certainly has a large number of unique and beautiful items that can be used for this purpose. Many you may be aware of already. Some might surprise you.
The Lucky Symbols for Feng Shui Sheng Ch'I that I have listed are in no particular order. It is just a random listing with a brief description of the item. I am sure there will be some items that I did not include that may have been on your list. Here are my top 20 Lucky Symbols for Feng Shui Sheng Ch'i.

*Feng Shui Fu Dogs, or Imperial Guardian Lions - You display these fine animals in pairs, one male and one female. They will protect your home and are symbols of family wealth.
*Fuk Luk Sau - The Three Star Gods will bring you luck, health, prosperity, and longevity. Place them up high in your living room or dining room.
*BaGua Mirror - this is a round mirror mounted into an octagonal frame. You never use in inside the home and is only used outside above the entrance door when there is negative Chi present.
*Ox Symbol or Statue - Placed in the southwestern corner of your home it will bring you wealth energy, prosperity, and abundance.

*Dragon Tortoise - With a coin in his mouth and sitting on a pile of coins this animal that is a symbol of longevity will also bring you good luck and prosperity.
*Crane - The Crane can bring you health, longevity, prosperity, and good luck. One must remember with all birds used in Feng Shui that we do not used caged birds as that would be bad Chi. You can use artwork depicting the bird in a free state.
*Elephant - The elephant is considered a strong good luck, prosperity, wisdom and longevity symbol. It should have its trunk raised and should be displayed high on a shelf or mantle.
*Wealth Bucket - You need to fill the metal bucket with coins and then place it in the northwest corner of your home or office. It is not displayed in the open but instead is put away in a cabinet or drawer to be effective.
*Coins & Crystal Balls - There are so many different good luck charms made from a combination of different styles of Chinese Coins and/or Crystal Balls, often tied together with red ribbon or string and may include red tassels. There are dozens to choose from.
*Golden Pigs - Usually placed in pairs this symbol will bring good fortune and joy to the home. These are especially useful when establishing a new home or business.
*Indoor Plants - Live plants kept healthy placed in the southeast corners will increase wealth.

*Arowana for Abundance - When this rare tropical fish swims over treasure it brings good luck and prosperity. It is usually a very unique and colorful figure to display.
That concludes my top 20 Lucky Symbols for Feng Shui Sheng Ch'i. I had to condense the coins and crystals as there would have been 20 variations of that sector alone. Then there were many other items that did not make my top 20.

Chinese Lion Dance Information and Facts
The Chinese use these powerful beasts as protection as well as to ward off harmful and evil spirits. Lion Dancing is the most popular folk dance in China. Without going through the ceremony of Kai Guang, a new lion should not be used In lion dance tradition. Kai Guang or Dian Jing means eye dotting or eye opening. This is a ceremony where a special chosen person is assigned to dot the eyes of the lion. This ceremony is done to give life and tame the new lion.
Chinese stores usually have a Buddhist, Taoist or ancestral altar or shrine. In front of this altar, the new lion is laid out. The drum, cymbals and gong are played steadily and softly in the background. The appointed person will dot the eyes with cinnabar. In this practice, some schools also use the blood of a live rooster. The first thing to dot will be the mirror of the front of the lion's head and followed by the eyes, mouth, ears and the rest of the lion. After this, it is said that the lion's senses are then 'awoken'.
The lion slowly awakens, as its eyes moves and blinks. Then the ears flicker, mouth opens, and body moves. When the lion is given life, the gong, cymbals and drum get louder and firecrackers are set off outside the restaurant or store. The new lion will usually always begin with three bows; left, right and then center. The lion will face the alter and do the three bows, then continue with the traditional lion dance routine.
Originated in China one thousand years ago, the lion dance is categorized into two major styles, Southern and Northern. The Northern lion is usually red, yellow and orange, shaggy in appearance, with a golden head and used as entertainment for the imperial court while the Southern dance is usually performed as a special ceremony to exorcise bad or evil spirits as well as to summon luck or fortune. The southern lions available in a wide variety of colors and usually have a distinctive head and large eyes, with a mirror which looks like bagua on its forehead.

About the Author
Fu Dogs / Foo Dogs / Lion Dogs - Both Male?
For Christmas I was given these two beautiful blue gradient Chinese Fu Dogs (resembling the Chinese guardian lion), both holding a ball under one of their paws. One holds a ball under their right, the other under their left. After some reading, I realize that as neither holds a younger Fu Dog under a paw, they are both male. Could this be true? And if so, how should I act accordingly? Would using them as Door Gods or Door Guardians seem ill fit?
Put one at the entrance to your driveway, one at the entrance to your door, then next year ask for a right and left female!
