Japanese frog toy with temple designs on the back?
I bought a little stuffed frog in Little Tokyo this weekend, though it's not exactly a toy. Found it at a gift shop.
Of course, it's green; calmly sitting; hands folded in front; rustic burlap material. The unusual thing is that it has some markings on its back that I'd like to know about.
There are seven little structures that look like they might be volcanoes. Each is cone shaped, with orange fire on top, and two or three puffs of stylized white smoke curling up.
The shopkeeper said that they were temples, but I would like more information.
Is this a folk or legend character? Are the temples from a particular tradition? Is the animal related to the temple? Where might I find these temples?
Any specific vocabulary would be a big help!
