Are you looking for a great gift idea for a special couple on their anniversary, for a wedding shower, engagement party, or even on Valentine's Day? How about a gift of matching luxury bathrobes?
With so many great styles available in both men's and women's robes, you may have a difficult time deciding on which pair would be best. Here are some tips for selecting just the right bathrobes for your special couple.
Bathrobe Styles
The first thing you may want to consider is the style of the bathrobes. Probably the most commonly available in his and hers robes is the traditional, belted, shawl collar (sometimes referred to as kimono style).
Another idea is to look for a smoking jacket style made out of satin. This is a cute way for the couple to enjoy a unisex look while lounging around the house.
Hooded bathrobes are a great option for couples with an outdoor Jacuzzi spa.
Colors and Materials
Another thing to think about is the type of fabric the bathrobes are made from. Luxury robes tend to be constructed of thick, absorbent material such as microfiber, chenille, or plush cotton. Flannel or silk robes are lighter weight. Terrycloth is the traditional fabric and still very popular.
As far as colors go, try to find a men's and women's bathrobe that is similar in style but comes in a wide range of hues. For instance, you can find a pair of robes in the same style, but consider ordering the bathrobe for men in navy, burgundy or hunter green and purchasing the matching women's bathrobe in a lighter shade, which is more feminine.
An Extravagant Gift
If the occasion you are buying the couple's robes for is a very special one, you may want to think about augmenting them with some accessories.
Matching his and her pajamas, or slippers, are a great adjunct to the robes. You may also want to include a couple of mugs with hearts on them and a package of hot chocolate mix or sleepy time tea. For a romantic present, add a bottle of massage oil or warming lotion.
The possibilities are nearly endless. Just take a look online for an idea of what is available.
No matter the occasion, any couple would love getting a gift of beautiful matching bathrobes. Not only are they soft, warm, and luxurious, but they are practical and will be used for years to come.
There's nothing boring or ordinary about a beautiful bathrobe. Check out a great selection of women's robes and men's robes at DeluxeWomensRobes.com.
What is the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Gi?
The Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Gi, also known as the Jiu Jitsu Kimono, is the uniform Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioners wear while training. The traditional colors are white, blue and sometimes black. Other color kimonos are more seldom found. It is made from a special type of fabric that ensures no ripping of any kind during training. They are made to withhold grabbing, pulling, throwing, etc. All Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Gi's should be using strictly 100% cotton, so keep in mind any Gi company that does not supply you with a Gi made of 100% cotton do not buy!
Jiu Jitsu Gi's are primarily made either light or heavy. However, these days you will see special names Gi companies make for their new Gi's such as gold, platinum, pearl, etc. The names usually associated with the lighter Gi's are Single Weave, Pearl Weave, etc. And the names usually associated with the heavier Gi's are Double Weave, Gold Weave, etc. The names of the Jiu Jitsu Gi's are not really important, but what is important is their weight. For competition it is recommended to use a light weight Gi so you'd buy a Single or Pearl Weave. If you're buying a Jiu JItsu Gi just for training then it is recommended to use a heavier one like a Double Weave or Gold Weave. The weight of the Jiu Jitsu Gi is also usually just a personal preference. One is not better than the other.
In all, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Gi's are simply what Jiu Jitsu fighters wear to practice their martial art of submission wrestling. They are made up of 100% cotton and are usually made either light or heavy in colors of white blue or black. Now decide whether you would like a heavy or light weight Jiu Jitsu Gi and purchase your own Submission Kimono. Train hard!

Gradation Dying Cotton Help?
I'm making a kimono out of white medium weight cotton. I want to dye the bottom of it a deep purple and have it transition up from purple, to magenta, to a gold/ deep yellow. I plan to dye each section prior to sewing it together. I just need to know how to achieve this gradation properly. Which dye should I use? (Rit? Fiber Reactive?) and how can I achieve the most smooth, and intense colour gradation possible?
Thanks!
Rit or Procion would be my preference. Transition dyeing is quite difficult, so do a test piece first. Ways: Dip the hem end first, take it out, let damp dry, dilute the dye, dip from the same end, and repeat. But when you reach the gold part, you will probably need to dip from the other end. An alternative might be to dye the whole thing in the gold first and see what effect you get by over-dyeing with the purple. If you really want the magenta, which is not really a true gradation from the purple (in my opinion), have a separate dye bath for that, and repeat the dyeing process with the purple still damp, and see what the over-dye effect is like.
Sorry that's a bit garbled. Have a look at The Dye Forum
