Charming Painting

Marc Chagall is an important French-Belarusian artist whose prints and paintings are covered in full through this article, with also a thorough discussion of his style and career achievements. Chagall's best prints offer dreamy scenes with characters blended with their backgrounds amidst wild colours that bring each work to life.

Marc Chagall achieved the rare honour of being respected and appreciated by the highest levels of artists that existed at the time, such as Pablo Picasso who compared his skills favourably to the master painter Henri Matisse. Picasso was certainly not the only one who noted Chagall's talents and it is now that the public has also caught up, with thousands choosing to buy art giclee prints and framed canvases of Chagall's originals to add some much needed colour to their own homes.

To summarise his career is not easy, but it is fair to say the most famous Chagall prints remain the likes of Young Woman on a Sofa, The Wedding, The Birth, I and the Village, The Green Donkey (L'Ane vert), Adam and Eve, Paris through the window, Self-Portrait with Seven Fingers, The Violinist, The Birthday, The Poet Reclining, Bella with White Collar, Houses at Vitebsk, The Blue House, Two Clowns on Horseback, The Tailor and The Fall of the Angels.

A fair conclusion to draw from this article plus any other studies of the prints from Chagall's career would be that his innovative style ensured charming works throughout his career and his dynamic colour choices is the reason for his popularity today within the global arts market. It is crucial that he moved to France to give himself an opportunity to develop a contemporary style with flexibility and decisions made solely be himself.

What's the most cost effective way to reface an older brick apartment building (built around 1910)?

I'm looking at purchasing a 4-unit multifamily building in East Cleveland that is all brick, but looks old and needs a major facelift on the front side for curb appeal. I'm curious what anyone knows about painting brick or possibly just cleaning it. Looking for a simple method at low cost to bring out the old charm without puting weeks of work and thousands into it. Thanks!

you can paint brick but it will soak up the paint like a sponge. You may want to contact a contractor and get an estimate on re pointing and cleaning the bricks first, it may not cost that much..otherwise, if you paint it, I would spray the brick with water first (pressure sprayer like you use with weed killer works well, just plain water) to get the brick wet before applying the paint, that way the bricks don't soak all the primer and paint up. you will save money this way.

Exhibition strikes nostalgic chord
