Here are some more information for Black Ink:

The Dell 5100cn printer is a printer that many home businesses and small businesses would find very useful for their office and home needs. It is a reliable printer that has good features. It is able to handle regular one sided printing jobs with ease and even high speed printing jobs. This printer has the capability to handle double sided color printing as well.
This printer has the capability to handle large loads of paper. This ability to handle large loads is good for large printing jobs that would otherwise have to have the paper trays reloaded over and over. The default paper tray of the printer holds a good paper supply of 500 sheets, just like other larger copiers. Another feature is a fold down tray that can hold 150 more sheets of paper.
Paper size capability includes the standard paper size all the way up to legal size. What the 5100cn also has in a tray that can handle other types of heavier materials like folders and envelopes that need printing. This is a very useful tool in printing.
Other trays can be added to the 5100cn. You can get trays to bulk up your printing needs and add them to the bottom of the printer. They can hold up to five hundred more sheets of paper. In addition to this tray, another tray may be purchased to increase the printing power by holding one thousand sheets. This increases the potential output of your printing capabilities. A built in duplexer also allows you to print double sided.
The 5100cn is a printer that is also economical. It does not require as much black ink or color ink as other printers do to perform similar jobs. The cost of color ink for the 5100cn is around one hundred sixty dollars while the black ink is around fifty dollars. This can get you roughly 8000 copies for color and 9000 copies for black and white.
Good performance is the result of various tests on the printer. It is very quick and for monochrome printing, you can expect about twenty one sheets per minute. For color, you can expect around 6 sheets per minute. Although the color print rate is a little low, it still is comparable to other printers at the same cost.
Installation of the printer is easy and not difficult to do. Two USB ports come with the printer as well parallel ports. The ability to assign this printer its own IP address is another feature.
Small businesses and home based businesses will find that the web based software package works well when only a few printers are involved. It has good image quality and will make large printing jobs seem small due to the ability to handle large volumes in a short period of time. It is compact enough to fit in small spaces.
This Dell 5100cn printer and Dell 5100 toner is good for use in the home or the office. Both printer and remanufactured laser toner are able to handle large or small jobs in short periods of time with good image quality for monochrome or color printing. It handles two sided copies with perfection and is a compact size. You will find all your printing needs met with this Dell printer.
How to Calculate Printing Cost of Page for Ink Cartridges
Inkjet printers use an ink cartridge which holds the ink that is transferred onto the paper surface during printing. Computer stores would advertise the yield of pages that the ink cartridges for a particular printer model can. This is something that you have to look into carefully before making your selection for which model of printer you will be getting to make sure that your purchase would be worth your money.
What is Yield of Pages?
The yield of pages commonly advertised among the features of a particular printer unit refers to the number of pages that can be printed using one set of ink cartridges. It is calculated based on the standard of measurement that was published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) back in February 2008. Currently, there are three printer manufacturing companies that use this standard:
Hewlett-Packard
Kodak
Canon
How to Compute for Cost per Page?
Printer manufacturers would often include in the printer model’s features the number of the pages that black ink cartridges and colored ink cartridges can produce. To get the cost per page printed, simply divide the number of the pages that is provided by the printer manufacture to the amount spent per ink cartridge.
Discrepancies in the Values
Many printer owners often notice the amount of pages that they print out using one set of ink cartridges is often lower than what has been specified. This is not a case of false advertising. Here are a few reasons why this happens:
Coverage of printed surface. When printer manufacturers test ink cartridges, they only use 5% ink coverage. This means that for every page, only 5% of the total paper surface is covered by ink coming from the ink cartridges. To get an idea on how big this surface is, this is approximately 4.7 sq. in. on a letter-size paper.
Printer Maintenance. As the nozzles used to transfer ink from the cartridge to the paper surface is getting thinner, it is more prone to blockage and clogging. Although printer cleaning could be done by setting your printer to do so, the cleaning method often uses a large amount of ink from the cartridge.
Paper Size. Printer manufacturers test ink cartridges using letter-sized papers. Using longer and larger paper sizes for printing would result in a reduction on the pages printed out.
Why is This Information Important?
Ink cartridges amount to a huge chunk of the cost of the total cost for owning a printer. Getting the most number of pages for a particular printer model would cost the total cost to be minimize since you do not have to keep buying ink cartridges. This is especially beneficial if you plan to set up a printing business.

Laser is the way to go. I have a Samsung CLP-300, it's great. If you want an inkjet then go to www.epson.com and then Go to http://www.inkproducts.com/ and buy a CISS for your printer. It will save you tons of money, you never change cartridges and never run out of ink [yes, you do have to fill the tanks once in a while] Bulk ink is cheap. The CISS will pay for itself in a month. Don't forget to get a Waste Ink Container, it hooks up to the printer and instead of the unusable ink going to the waste ink pad, it goes to the container which can then be emptied, washed and used over and over. The waste ink pad when full will need to be replaced or the printer will not print. Changing the pad is messy and a PITA.
