Would Thomas Edison have been more likely to stay up into the wee hours designing and refining new inventions to improve our lives if he had to give up most of his income to those who slept?

Thomas Edison was an inventor motivated by wealth and success. I don't believe that he would have been as successful with out motivating factors. Because he would have been raised in a gimme society not a work hard to succeed society. Where one is rewarded for hard work.
I don't believe the farmers will care as much about the government owned farms, why be a steward of the land when it is not your land.
Free stuff is the downfall of thought patterns of the youth. Many of the youth do not have an understanding of the value of a dollar. They are giving what they want and demand ever more. Under Obamaism they will get what they deserve. But all will be the same when the wealth is redistributed.
There will be no reason to accomplish anything, for there will be no reward for it. I just want to know where the 'magic' factories will be that produce stuff for nothing.
